Delivered At Place (DAP) is a trade term where the seller pays to move the goods to an agreed destination and carries the risk until they arrive, ready for unloading.
When to use it and why it’s useful
Use DAP when you want the seller to handle most of the transport planning and cost, while the buyer takes care of import steps at the destination. In practice, this usually means the seller books and pays the main transport, manages export paperwork, and makes sure the goods reach the named place on time. The buyer typically unloads the shipment and handles local entry requirements like permits, duties, and taxes. This setup is useful if the buyer has better control (or better rates) for destination-side processes, but still wants a clear “delivered to my location” handoff point.
How Transportify fits in
Transportify can support destination deliveries by providing reliable trucking options, scheduled drop-offs, real-time updates, and delivery documentation. If you need proof that goods arrived at the agreed location, Transportify’s delivery tracking and driver coordination help reduce missed deliveries, confusion at the gate, and last-minute rescheduling.
