Palletization is the process of stacking, securing, and labeling items on a pallet so they move as one stable “unit load.” In practice, it makes handling faster and reduces damage because forklifts and pallet jacks can lift the whole stack instead of individual boxes.
When is palletization used?
Use it when you have many cartons, sacks, or cases going to the same destination, especially if the shipment will be touched multiple times (pickup, sorting, loading, unloading). It’s useful for:
- Faster loading and unloading
- Better space use in a vehicle
- Less product crushing and tipping
- Easier counting and checking at handoff
It’s not a substitute for good packaging. Weak boxes, messy stacking, or loose wrap can still shift and break.
How Transportify helps
When booking a vehicle with Transportify, you can tell the driver your goods are on pallets and share the stack size and weight. That helps match you with the right truck type and lets the team plan smoother pickup and drop-off. If you’re shipping regularly, consistent pallet builds also make your dispatch routine more predictable.
